Do You The Symptoms of Stroke?
Somewhere in the range of 500,000 Americans have strokes each year. Stroke is the third leading killer in the United States. Over 145,000 people a year die from stroke related causes. This is right behind coronary heart disease and cancer. Some people recover fully following a stroke, the majority though suffer from some type of lasting physical or mental disability. Truth be known stroke is the most common cause of disability in adults. Stroke follows only Alzheimer's diease as a cause of dementia. The Symptoms of Stroke are, Sudden numbness or weakness of face, arm, or leg, especially on one side of the body. Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding. Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes. Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance, or coordination. Sudden severe headaches with no known cause. Important: Sometimes stroke symptoms last only a few minutes and disappear. This may be a sign of a ( transient ischemic attack ) TIA. Do not ignore one of these "ministrokes". It can be a forerunner to a future, full-blown stroke. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms of stroke Seek emergency medical care immediately. If you have experienced any of these symptoms in the past see your Doctor as soon as possible.
